Gunmen abduct man, shoot another in Byazhin, Abuja

One Afam Nwankwo Onyedikachi has been abducted by unknown gunmen around the Public Commentary area in Byazhin, Bwari Area Council, in the early hours of Saturday.

 

Police sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. when sounds of gunshots were heard in the vicinity, prompting a swift response by a nearby police patrol team.

 

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that the victim was abducted while attempting to enter his residence after returning from a gymnastics session.

 

Another resident, who tried to confront the abductors, was shot and sustained injuries. He was rushed to Vinka Hospital in Byazhin for treatment.

 

Police say efforts are ongoing to track the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the victim.
