IED planted by bandits hits vehicle along Gurusu–Gwashi road in Zamfara

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by suspected armed bandits exploded on 10 December 2025 along the Gurusu–Gwashi route in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, hitting a Toyota Eagle Eye vehicle carrying an undetermined number of passengers from Gwashi.
Zagazola Makama reliably gathered that the device detonated at precisely 0832hrs, causing panic among commuters on the route.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA along with Tactical teams as well as bomb disposal experts, were promptly mobilised to assess the scene and secure the area.
Efforts to determine casualties and recover the remnants of the device are ongoing.
The attack was suspected to be orchestrated by Sadiku who collaborated with the faction of Dogo Gide.
Authorities have warned travellers to exercise caution on the road.
