OPEP troops arrest three suspected drug peddlers in Plateau

Troops of Sector 6, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), in conjunction with Vigilance Network Group (VGN), have arrested three suspected drug peddlers during a raid operation at Gyel Community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The operation was conducted at about 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, following intelligence on the activities of suspected drug dealers operating from the area.

Security sources told Zagazola that troops raided a suspected hideout during the operation and arrested three suspects.

The troops also recovered a large quantity of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs, as well as ₦7,400 in cash.

The suspects and the recovered exhibits are currently in custody for further necessary action.

The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to disrupt criminal activities and deny criminal elements safe havens within communities across Plateau State.
