Troops arrest suspected ISWAP logistics supplier in Yobe, recover items

Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected logistics supplier for terrorists in Yobe State.
Security sources said the suspect was apprehended at about 5:20 p.m. on April 26 at Bukarti bridge checkpoint in Yunusari Local Government Area of the state.
The sources disclosed that the suspect, who claimed to be a native of Platari village in Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State, was intercepted while transporting suspected logistics materials in a pickup vehicle.
He was said to be conveying 800 pieces of 2x2 timber and 169 pieces of fibre reportedly destined for Kaulaha village in the Niger Republic, a location believed to be a known hub for terrorist activities.
Items recovered from the suspect include one mobile phone, one set of prayer beads, and the sum of ₦52,000.
The suspect is currently in military custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of his involvement and possible links with terrorist networks.
The sources added that the recovered items and vehicle are also being held for further action.
