Troops arrest suspected terrorist with alleged links to terror activities in Kogi

Troops of 12 Brigade have arrested a suspected terrorist who was allegedly loitering around a military position in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The suspect was apprehended at about 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2026, by troops deployed at a blocking position in Taki.
According to military sources, preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspect is a herder from Ndaakwu Village in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.
The troops reportedly recovered a mobile phone from the suspect, and preliminary exploitation of the device allegedly revealed communications suspected to be linked to terrorist activities.
Items recovered from the suspect included a wristwatch, a small mirror and the sum of ₦83,500.
The suspect remains in military custody as further investigation and exploitation continue to establish his possible links and activities.
