Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified efforts to secure farming communities in Borno State by conducting a fighting and clearance patrol across Bundur and adjoining villages in the Lake Chad region.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the patrol was led by the Acting Commander of the 19 Brigade, Col. E.O. Ikang, alongside troops and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

The operation, carried out at about 12:30 p.m. on June 23, was aimed at dominating the general area, reassuring residents and providing security cover for farmers carrying out agricultural activities.

During the patrol, the brigade commander interacted with farmers, encouraging them to promptly report suspicious movements and terrorist activities to security agencies to enhance timely response.

He also distributed incentives to the farmers and assured them of the military’s continued commitment to protecting farming communities throughout the farming season.

The troops later returned to base after successfully completing the operation without any incident.

Military sources said the patrol forms part of Operation Hadin Kai’s ongoing efforts to create a secure environment for farming activities, improve civil-military relations and deny terrorists freedom of action across the North-East.
