Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have foiled a terrorist attack on commuters and rescued victims along a major supply route in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on April 22 when troops of 120 Task Force Battalion, on a main supply route patrol along the Ngirbuwa–Bulturam Kwana road, responded to an attempted attack at Bulturam Kwana.

The sources said the terrorists had diverted a civilian vehicle into the bush with the intention of abducting the occupants.

However, on sighting the advancing troops, the attackers fled the scene, abandoning their victims.

The patrol team subsequently cleared the general area and safely rescued the occupants of the vehicle.

The sources added that troops have continued to dominate the route to ensure the safety of commuters and prevent further attacks.
