Troops repel ISWAP infiltration attempt in Nganzai Borno

Troops have foiled an attempted infiltration by suspected ISWAP terrorists into Gajiram town in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 12:20 p.m. on April 10, when the terrorists attempted to infiltrate the community but were engaged by troops, forcing them to withdraw.
The sources disclosed that during the encounter, one member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) was killed in action.
The troops reportedly maintained dominance of the area following the engagement to prevent further incursion by the attackers.
The sources added that calm had been restored, while surveillance operations were ongoing in the general area.
Efforts to obtain official confirmation from military authorities were ongoing at the time of filing this report.
