Troops of Sector 3 have rescued 18 kidnapped victims during a night operation in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The troops, deployed at Ibi, responded to reports of kidnapping activities at Kwatan Bajji at about 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 18.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops immediately mobilised to the area following the report.

The criminals, however, fled on sighting the advancing troops, preventing direct contact.

The troops subsequently rescued 18 kidnapped victims from the area.

One badge was also recovered during the operation.

The rescued victims were released to reunite with their families, while the recovered badge was retained by the troops for further investigation and necessary action.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt kidnapping networks and protect communities across Taraba State.

Troops are expected to sustain patrols and other operations in vulnerable areas to deny criminal elements freedom of action and safeguard residents.
