Two Killed, Several Injured in Communal Clash in Bauchi

Two persons have been confirmed dead while eight others sustained injuries following a violent communal clash between youths of Inkil and Bujinji villages on the outskirts of Bauchi metropolis.
Police sources said the incident occurred at about 2300 hours on June 21, when youths from Inkil village reportedly launched a reprisal attack on Bujinji village over an old feud between the two communities.
During the confrontation, eight persons sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Following a distress report, a police patrol team led by a senior police officer swiftly moved to the scene and evacuated the victims to the State Specialist Hospital in Bauchi for medical attention.
Medical personnel confirmed the death of two persons identified as Al Amin Mohammad Aliyu and Jibir Shuaibu, both from the Inkil community.
Security operatives have since been deployed in the area to restore calm and prevent further escalation of violence.
Police authorities said patrols remained active in the affected communities, while monitoring efforts had been intensified to forestall a breakdown of law and order.
The command assured residents that investigations were ongoing and that those responsible for the violence would be brought to justice.
