Farmer assaulted over grazing dispute in Kaduna

A 40-year-old farmer, Mr Sunday Irmiah, has been assaulted by a suspected herder following a dispute over grazing on his farm in Angwan Rana village, Fadan Kamantan District of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:58 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2026, when troops of Sector 7, Operation WHIRL PUNCH, responded to a report of the assault.
On arrival at the location, the troops found Irmiah with injuries to his right hand, while the suspected assailant had fled the area with his cattle before the troops arrived.
The injured farmer was evacuated to a hospital in Fadan Kamantan for medical treatment.
Efforts are ongoing to track and arrest the fleeing suspect for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
Security personnel are also monitoring the area to prevent the dispute from escalating into further violence.
