Gunmen kill one, abduct three in attack on Niger community

Gunmen have killed a 25-year-old man and abducted three residents during an attack on Tashar Hajiya Community in Niger State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on July 24, when unidentified armed men invaded the community and opened fire on residents.
During the attack, Mustafa Murtala, 25, was shot dead by the assailants.
The gunmen also abducted Alhaji Baza Baza, his wife and one of their daughters, whose identity had yet to be confirmed, before fleeing to an unknown destination.
Following a distress report, the Area Commander led a team of police operatives to the scene.
The body of the deceased was evacuated to the General Hospital, Kutigi, where it was deposited for autopsy.
Police sources said efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators and rescue the abducted victims safely.
