Imam abducted, rescued in Zamfara

A cleric abducted by bandits in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State has regained freedom following a joint security operation.
The victim, identified as Malam Abdulsamadu, the second Imam of Zurmi Juma’at Mosque, was abducted on Monday morning by armed men who whisked him away to an unknown destination.
Zagazola Makama reports that a joint team of security operatives, comprising the military and other forces, launched a search-and-rescue mission after the incident.
By Tuesday afternoon, the Imam was successfully rescued unharmed, taken to hospital for medical checks, treated and later discharged. He has since been reunited with his family.
