Security Forces Launch Search Operation After Abduction of Resident in Jos

Security forces have launched a search-and-rescue operation following the abduction of a resident in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that troops of Sector 1 of Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) responded to reports of the incident at about 12:15 a.m. on June 10.
According to the sources, the victim, identified as Mr Kenneth Mbaka, was abducted in front of his residence at the ECWA Staff Quarters while returning home from work.
The assailants reportedly whisked the victim away to an unknown destination before security personnel arrived at the scene.
Following the report, troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, immediately commenced search-and-rescue operations across suspected criminal hideouts and vulnerable locations within and around the area.
Security operatives have also intensified intelligence gathering and tracking efforts aimed at locating the kidnappers and securing the safe release of the victim.
Sources said the operation is ongoing, with security agencies deploying available resources to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended.
The incident highlights the continuing threat posed by kidnapping and other violent crimes in parts of Plateau State despite ongoing security operations.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information that could assist security agencies in tracking criminal elements and preventing similar incidents.
