Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested 11 suspected logistics collaborators of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) during an operation in Borno State.
A military source said the suspects were intercepted at about 12:27 p.m. on June 11 by troops of the 19 Brigade Garrison deployed at 61 Checkpoint 1 in Kekeno.
The source identified one of the suspects as Usman Alhaji Bukar, who was arrested alongside 10 others while travelling in two civilian vehicles carrying bags.
According to the source, preliminary findings raised suspicions that the group had ventured into the bush around Ali Sheriffti to recover vehicles allegedly linked to logistics collaborators who were reportedly sighted supplying materials to terrorists before being targeted during a Nigerian Air Force operation on June 6.
The source added that during interrogation, Usman claimed that the group members were transport workers travelling to Monguno with the vehicles.
However, the suspects were taken into custody for further questioning.
The military source said all 11 suspects are currently being held at the detention facility of the 19 Brigade Garrison in Kekeno pending the outcome of ongoing investigations.
The arrest forms part of sustained efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to dismantle terrorist support networks and disrupt logistics channels used by insurgent groups in the region.
The source added that the general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops continue to maintain high morale and operational effectiveness.
